Firstly I would like to say a massive thank you to all of our Clients and LSP’s for your co-operation and patience when I was dealing with all the bookings, especially the last minute ones! Your support so far has been brilliant!!
I just wanted to let you all know that I am moving onto a new role. I will be responsible for Customer Relationship/User Experience (UX) Design. It’s with great pleasure that I introduce you to our newest team member, Sara. Sara is the new booking co-ordinator and will be contacting you all through email, phone and text. I hope you will build a great working relationship with Sara, as I have had with all of you and I hope the support continues. You will be hearing from Sara soon – so please make her feel welcome!!
Welcome to the first of our team Lingoing blogs! Each week we will be interviewing a member of the Lingoing team and sharing it with you. We hope it will help you get to know us better and what we are all about 🙂
First up is ‘Joe’…..
Full name: Joe Sumray
Job Title: Product Manager
1) Please explain your role at Lingoing:
My job as a product manager involves determining and defining what products Lingoing should create and focus on. To do this I have to take into account the market, customer and company needs. On a day to day basis I can be found on the phone speaking to the web developer, meeting with customers and my fellow Lingoing colleagues.
2) Why Lingoing?
Having the opportunity to work alongside a great team to create products that serve the interpreting and deaf community is extremely exciting and interesting. The team all feel really passionately about what they do and being around that enthusiasm and drive is amazing.
3) What do you do outside of work?
FOOTBALL! I love everything about it – playing and watching. I also enjoy a less well known sport called Crossfit – think of it as extreme circuit training. Other than sport I love to go out to eat and go on nights out with my friends and family.
4) What is your favourite film?
‘The Godfather’ – I am a bit of a gangster film fan and lets face it you can’t get better than The Godfather. “I’m going to make him an offer he can’t refuse”
5) Last but not least…What is the worst thing you have ever eaten?
Hmmmmm…I can’t recall eating anything too gruesome (wait for Ovais’s worst food!) but if I was to go for one it would be an old Jewish delicacy known as gefilte fish. It is translated as ‘stuffed fish’ – tastes even worse than it sounds!
Thats all from Joe – tune in next week to read all about the Lingoing co-founder Saduf!
Finally…our blog is underway!
We want to start by welcoming you all!. The blog will be a place where we share all the latest news and stories within the deaf and interpreting world. Expect to see interesting interviews, funny stories and plenty of debate! The blog should be a place for all to get involved, so please don’t be shy and have your say!
Ohhh…it is our CEO’s 35th birthday today! Here is the birthday boy cutting into his cake! Happy birthday Sad 🙂
